The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. SiS LVM Home Östfora in Järlåsa, northwest of Uppsala, receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, in combination with mental health issues. We have special competence in medical care and are tasked with providing care for clients with specific care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work, contributing to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. Case management is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening, Monday-Sunday. Weekend work according to schedule every third weekend.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You should also have:
- A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
- A valid driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish skills in speech and writing
It is an advantage for us if you also have:
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care
- Training in care and support
- Experience working with our target group, substance abuse care for older men

Employment:
- The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible.
